Glass damage in Knightdale, Wendell or Rolesville? Call Impex Auto Glass for a quote and a time.
Knightdale: the bypass and Knightdale Boulevard
Knightdale, with 19,435 people at the 2020 census, sits on the Knightdale Bypass, where I-87, US 64 and US 264 run together, and I-540 runs along the west side of town. US 64 Business, known locally as Knightdale Boulevard, is the main commercial strip. Knightdale is also where NCDOT’s Complete 540 project ends: the extension of the Triangle Expressway runs from the NC 55 Bypass in Apex to I-87, US 64 and US 264 in Knightdale, with its second phase, about 10 miles to Knightdale, scheduled for completion in 2028.
Construction traffic and new pavement mean gravel trucks, and gravel trucks mean chips. G.S. 20-116(g) requires trucks over 7,500 pounds carrying rock, gravel or stone to keep the load six inches below the walls and securely covered. Small chips picked up on the bypass are usually repairable if they are caught early; see windshield repair in Raleigh.

Wendell: the far end of I-87
I-87 runs 12.9 miles between Raleigh and Wendell, mostly as the Knightdale Bypass, and it passes through the western part of Wendell with US 64 and US 264. US 64 Business, Wendell Boulevard, is the town’s main road off the expressway, and NC 97 and NC 231 run nearby. Wendell is smaller, 9,793 people at the 2020 census, and its population has climbed sharply since, to an estimated 19,687 in 2025. For a Wendell driver, the daily trip into Raleigh is nearly all expressway, which is where most windshield damage happens.
Rolesville: northeastern Wake County
Rolesville is in northeastern Wake County, with 9,475 people at the 2020 census and an estimated 12,839 in 2025. US 401 is its main road toward Raleigh, with I-540, NC 98, US 401 Business and NC 96 serving the town. The way into the city is I-540 or US 401, and neighbouring Wake Forest is covered on its own page.

What we do in all three towns
- Windshield replacement, with the glass checked by VIN and the forward camera calibrated on site after the work.
- Chip and crack repair for damage that is small, shallow and away from the edges.
- Car window repair: door, quarter and back glass replaced at the car.
- ADAS calibration for the camera, and radar calibration after bumper or grille work.
Impex says a windshield replacement takes about one hour plus a short curing period, a side window about 30 to 60 minutes, and a back glass about one to two hours. The visit needs a level spot, room to open the doors and dry glass; in a new subdivision that is usually the driveway or the garage. See mobile windshield replacement for the details.
Insurance in eastern Wake County
Glass is a comprehensive claim in North Carolina, paid less your deductible, and the state has no zero-deductible glass law. Under G.S. 58-3-180 you choose who does the work, and the insurer pays the same either way. A comprehensive glass claim is not an at-fault accident and adds no Safe Driver Incentive Plan points. Impex works with all major insurance providers; see insurance and claims and the full Raleigh service areas list.
